Training your puppy properly
It is always a great feeling when you take home a new puppy and you and your family dedicate your entire free time to his education and fun. A proper education starts right from the beginning and you must teach him even the most insignificant detail like going down and up the stairs. There are also other skills and talents that a dog can learn and that will be very helpful both for you and your dog on the future.

The best moment to introduce a puppy into your family it is when the atmosphere is calm and quiet so it will not be a shock for him to suddenly wake up away from his brothers and mother and inside a group of noisy people. If you want to give a puppy as a birthday present, it is better to wait for the party and the agitation to stop in way to assure the animal a proper receiving.

A puppy is usually afraid of the stairs and avoids climbing them. This is why you need to teach him how to defeat this fear and you need to make exercises with him by climbing up and down the stairs. You should start from the bottom of the stairs so he will not have the feeling that he is going to fall or something like that. If he will resist climbing them, try attracting him with a toy but only a stair upper. When he realized climbing one, advance to the next one and so on. Do not force the puppy to go up if he is afraid. You will not solve anything and he will even be more afraid of the stairs if you do so.

Another thing you must teach your puppy to get used to is the collar. This has to be the proper size and it must fit perfectly because if it doesn’t the puppy will resist and will not get used in wearing a collar. Also, you must attach a tag a license next to the collar so if the puppy gets lost it will be returned to you.
